| What is a Health Insurance Deductible? |
A Health Insurance deductible is a specific amount of money your health insurance company may make you pay before they pay certain claims. Most plans on the market today have deductibles associated with plans and the vast majority of deductibles are required once per year. Be sure to check your policies to to ensure this is the case and that you do not have to pay per occurance as we have seen with some plans. In this case it should be considered a co pay and not a deductible. It's generally wise to have an annual deductible on a health insurance plan unless your on an hmo and then it's normal to have co pays for most procedures and admissions. |
