Health Insurance Co Pay

A health insurance co pay is a specific amount your health insurance company may require you to pay before certain medical services are rendered. For instance, you may have a twenty five dollar co pay for a doctors office visit or a one hundred dollar co pay for an outpatient service. Prescription drugs often fall under a co pay of some sort as well. In most cases the remainder of the balance is taken care of by the health insurance company but occasionally you may have a co insurance percentage where you share some of the cost.
