First, and one that used to be very popular in years past is the "Traditional Indemnity" plan and sometimes referred to in the Individual Health Insurance industry as the "All Provider". The "All Provider" has faded in it's popularity over the last several years due to it's lack of affordability. Due to rising healthcare costs this type of plan is usually way too expensive for the average health insurance consumer. Another plan and probably one of the more common plans today is the "PPO" or "Preferred Provider Organization". This type of plan has somewhat less flexibility than the "All Provider" but more flexibility than the "HMO". This plan is also more affordable in general than the "All Provider" plan. And finally, the "HMO" or "Health Maintenance Organization" which has gained a lot of popularity over the last several years. HMO'S have gained vast popularity with Physician support. All of the different health insurance plans listed above work differently and we explain them in detail with the articles listed below: |
