  Health insurance shopping made easy!

This Family Health Insurance article will hopefully both help you and give  the ammunition you need to get the most out of your next family health insurance plan. This is only an example and remember your individual needs may different but we're trying to assist individuals that may need to save on monthly expenses but at the same time have quality family health insurance coverage to match. On any health insurance plan a very expensive thing to look at is the deductible. Depending on what your deductible is this could save you a significant amount of money if you opt to go with a higher one. You will typically save a lot of money if you have a $2500 deductible as opposed to a $500 deductible. With a $2500 deductible the health insurance company knows your less likely to use it therefore cutting costs on what they charge for it. An individual typically only pays an annual deductible on surgeries or hospital admissions or testing so why pay the extra money every month because at the end of the year you may pay an extra $2000 a year for this benefit  in monthly premium alone. Health Insurance consumers also have to figure most healthy individuals rarely if ever go to the hospital anyway so it may be good to save your money in this regard as opposed to giving it to the health insurance company. It's all a matter of personal choice.

Another thing is the doctors office co pay. Health Insurance consumers may be surprised to know that on the average you could be paying 10-30% for having a doctors office co pay on your plan today. Most companies have deductible only health insurance plans that could eliminate the doctors office co pay for you thereby saving you this money on a monthly basis. If you don't want to eliminate the co pay all together you can see about raising the co pay from say ten to forty dollars. When you agree to share more of the risk with the health insurance company you save money on a monthly basis. Health Insurance companies can typically have co pays starting at $10, $15, $20, $25, $30, $35 and so on.

And, finally there is co insurance. Some people like 100% co insurance so the insurance company will pay everything after the co pay or annual health insurance deductible is met. Unfortunately this is very expensive and out of reach for most health insurance consumers. One of the most affordable methods if your health insurance company offers this is 50/50 to $2500. Meaning you would be out of pocket your deductible plus $1250. Another option is 80/20 to $10,000. Meaning you would be out $2000 plus your deductible.

You may find with health insurance plans this could save you significantly in monthly premium. If you did the math you may find it saves you more per year than if you had to go in the hospital within 12 months. So, if your like most people who are healthy and rarely go it could add up to a ton of extra money in your pocket you may have otherwise given to the health insurance company. This is strictly meant as information only as every individual need varies and is a matter of personal choice for you and your family. Also, consult specific health insurance policies and companies to ensure they have the benefits you need before attempting to make a decision.
